Parent Teacher Organization (PTO): FKS has a very competent Parent Teachers Organization. PTO has raised money for the students and teachers which is used to purchase materials for classroom teachers, supplement all resource programs, and support classroom libraries for all instructional programs. PTO Board meetings are held once a month and many sub committees meet as necessary throughout the school year.
School Advisory Council (SAC): The School Advisory Council meets on a regular monthly basis. This committee looks at goals and objectives of the School Improvement Plan and seeks to find additional strategies for FKS to monitor all the schools missions and goals.
School Volunteer Program: Volunteers are an essential part of the FKS school program. Volunteers provide a variety of services from correcting papers, chaperoning field trips, or tutoring individual students. Mrs. Stacey Johnson (a staff member), along with two volunteers, coordinate this program. We value our parents and consider them a true partner at FKS! VOLUNTEERS MAKE A DIFFERENCE
Star Mentor Program: F.K. Sweet has implemented a STAR Mentor Program to provide academic assistance for students experiencing difficultly in reading and math. We have over 60 parents and community members mentoring students.
