May is the month we have been preparing for all year. A total of 134 LPA students will be taking IB tests in May 2017. We have 62 seniors registered as IB Diploma candidates seeking the coveted IB Diploma. DP students will be testing from May 1-19 in the gymnasium. The Diploma Program is like a marathon that takes two years to conquer, and the finish line is now in sight. The excitement level at school has been high as students receive their acceptance letters from colleges and universities. DP students have invested considerable effort and many hours to ensure success in achieving their goals. We will celebrate these students at the LPA IB Banquet on Wednesday, May 17 at 6:00 pm at the PGA Country Club in Port St. Lucie. Tickets are $20.00 for students and $25.00 for guests. We are very proud of these extraordinary students!

Juniors have just a few assignments left to complete this month. The CAS check will be on May 5th, the World Literature draft is due May 23rd, and Biology lab notebooks are due May 25th.

MYP students from grades 6-10 are working together in a school-wide effort to reduce, reuse and recycle. Our students have been enthusiastic about this effort; special thanks to Mrs. Lyshon for organizing this Service as Action activity. With the end of the year in sight, it is a pleasure to observe how students interact using the IB Learner Profile traits that have been our focus throughout the year. It’s time to celebrate the many successes our students have achieved this year.

Thanks for your continued support throughout the year. Have a great summer!

Kind regards,
C. Kuhn
