FCAT’s will be taking place from Monday, April 15th thru Friday, April 26th. Grades 3rd – 8th will be taking tests ranging from Reading, Science, and Math.

Please remember to have students come to school on time, well rested, and have access to a good breakfast. We want to make sure that all students reach their full potential.

PBS Reward Day

Upcoming PBS Events at Oak Hammock!

On Friday, May 10th, we will be celebrating good behavior with a PBS Reward Day! A variety of activities are planned for all students who are able to participate, including a dance for middle school students! The cost to participate is 15 Osprey Dollars, and one or fewer referrals. Snacks and drinks will be available at the middle grades dance for purchase.

Elementary Dance! PBS is hosting a dance for elementary students on Friday, May 10th, from 6-8pm in the audeteria. More information will be coming your way soon!

Media Specialists (update: positions saved)

As you may have heard, the St. Lucie County School Board is considering cutting Media Specialists and Media Clerks/Assistants as part of our district budget cuts.

If you believe the Media Center and having trained Media Staff is valuable to our school, please consider the following teaching opportunities:

- Civic Responsibility: Students could create and generate petitions to save our Media Center.
- Persuasive Writing: Students could write persuasive letters to the district/board members .
- Artistic Renditions: Students could write poems, draw pictures, to show how the library is valuable to them.

Thank to our fabuous PTO, Oak Hammock students were able to enjoy bounce houses, a huge slide, music, chips and water for our annual FCAT celebration day. Thank you Oak Hammock PTO for providing such a great event for our students!
