Annual Department of Education Exceptional Student Education Parent Survey

Survey for Parents of Students with an Individual Educational Plan (IEP) in Exceptional Student Education (ESE)

How well is Southern Oaks Middle School supporting your involvement in your child’s education?

The Florida Department of Education is conducting a survey designed to provide the state with information on how well schools are supporting parents’ involvement in their child’s education. Under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA), states must report this information to the federal government on an annual basis.  The responses to the survey provide important information for planning and monitoring improvement activities. This survey, conducted only once a year, provides parents with a unique opportunity to be heard. This year’s survey window began February 1 and is open until May 31, 2017. All parents of children with IEPs in preschool to 12th grade are eligible to complete the survey. You can access the survey at: www.ESEsurvey.com. No names will be released in any report. All responses are confidential.
