Third Graders enjoy field trip to Heathcote Botanical Gardens

Mrs. Marino, a Third Grade teacher at Savanna Ridge was awarded a Target Field Trip Grant.  The third graders attended a field trip to Heathcote Botanical Gardens in Fort Pierce.  It was a valuable learning experience for our students as they explored the life of plants. They learned about the basic structures in plants, how plants respond to stimuli, and understanding how plants use the sun, air, and water to make their own food.  In addition, the experience provided the students with hands-on activities and a take-home plant to further their understanding of the lessons they learned. Students were engaged in the learning and were appreciative of the opportunity provided to them by Target.  Thank you to Target for supporting children in our community!
