When does the season start and end?
The volleyball season runs from August through November.
What is the usual practice schedule?
Practices are held after school every weekday, except on game days. This is subject to change.
How many games/meets/matches are there in a season?
The regular season includes approximately 25 matches, with additional games possible during district, regional, and state tournament play.
When are tryouts held, and what should students bring?
Tryouts are typically held in July. It’s a good idea to follow Legacy on Facebook for announcements. Students should bring all necessary volleyball gear and plenty of water.
What are the academic eligibility requirements (GPA, attendance)?
A minimum 2.0 GPA and good school attendance are required for participation.
Are there off-season training or conditioning programs?
Yes! Summer conditioning begins in late June and continues until tryouts.
What equipment or gear must parents purchase?
Players will need volleyball shoes, knee pads, spandex, socks, a backpack, and a refillable water bottle.
What is the policy on missing practices or games?
While summer conditioning is optional, attendance is mandatory once the season begins. Players are expected at all practices and games unless an emergency arises.
How is transportation handled for away games?
Transportation is provided by bus for all away matches.
Are parents required to attend all games?
No, parent attendance is encouraged but not required.
