Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education

The Cambridge Advanced International Certificate of Education is an internationally recognized program that emphasizes the value of broad and balanced study. It offers students the ability to gain an in-depth understanding of subjects that suit their specific passions and interests while developing the tools necessary to succeed in college-level classes. This program is recognized internationally and prepares students for college. Students can earn college credit and potentially earn the AICE Diploma.

Requirements to Graduate with an AICE Diploma

Students must pass six credits worth of examinations as well as pass Global Perspectives for a minimum of seven qualifying AICE credits.

At least one examination must come from each of the three subject groups: Mathematics & Sciences, Languages, and Arts and Humanities.

For AS examinations, candidates are graded on an alphabetical scale, A to E, with grade A indicating a top level of performance and grade E indicating a minimum passing grade.

Florida law recognizes Advanced International Certificate of Education (AICE) curriculum as a method of qualifying for a Florida Academic Scholars (FAS) or Florida Medallion Scholars (FMS) award through the Florida Bright Futures Scholarship Program.

To qualify for a Bright Futures Scholarship award utilizing the AICE curriculum option, students must satisfy the following requirements:

  • Complete the AICE curriculum requirements as determined by the Florida Department of Education
  • Meet the appropriate SAT or ACT test score
  • Earn the community service hours: FAS – 100, FMS – 75

If you do not wish to pursue the full AICE Diploma, you may still choose to enroll in individual AICE courses as an exploratory option.
