Important Information for a Smooth Start
Legacy High is making history as our very first students walk the halls—let’s make it a great start! Below you’ll find everything you need to know for the first day and week of school.
🍽 Breakfast & Lunch

Breakfast is FREE for all students.

You can pre-pay for lunch meals here: Meal Payments

Student lunch numbers remain the same from year to year if they’ve been in St. Lucie Public Schools.

If your student doesn’t know their number, they can ask a teacher or cafeteria staff at checkout.

Lunch numbers are also printed on schedules distributed during first period.
📲 Communication
We will monitor Facebook throughout the day, but responses may not be immediate.
For time-sensitive matters, please call the Front Office at 772-301-7800.
📵 Cell Phones
Cell phones may only be used:

Before school
-
During lunchtime
-
After school
This policy will be strictly enforced from day one.
📅 Schedule Questions

Schedule issues (missing classes, duplicates, or previously completed courses) will be addressed by guidance counselors throughout the week.

Students without a schedule should report to the Cafeteria starting at 7:25 AM.

First period class lists will be posted on cafeteria windows.
🗓 Blue/Gray Days

Day 1 (August 15) is a BLUE day: periods 1, 3, 5, 7.

Day 2 is a GRAY day: periods 2, 4, 5, 6.

The pattern alternates daily.
⏰ Bell Schedule

First Bell: 7:25 AM
-
Late Bell: 7:33 AM
-
Dismissal: 1:41 PM
-
Campus Opens: 7:00 AM
Students should know their dismissal plan—bus, walking, or parent pick-up—to avoid confusion.
🏫 Upon Arrival
Students may:

Go to the cafeteria for breakfast

Wait in the courtyard until it’s time to report to class
🚗 Student Drivers

Must display a parking permit.
-
Parking is in the west parking lot (no assigned spaces).

Grace period for purchasing permits ends August 25.
-
Completed parking permit contracts must be submitted to the Dean’s Office.
💻 Technology
Students will not receive individual laptops this year. Classrooms have assigned laptop carts.
Laptops will only be issued under special circumstances.
🆔 Student IDs

Must be worn around the neck at all times on campus.

Students may use any school-appropriate lanyard or receive a solid-colored one from the school.

Students needing an ID should listen for announcements on how to obtain one.
🚫 Prohibited Items
Weapons, knives, vape pens, tobacco products, and drugs of any kind are strictly prohibited on campus.
