Don’t let summer slide by…utilize our summer resources to reinforce learning throughout the summer!

Collaborating for Safer Schools

The St. Lucie County Sheriff’s Office, Port St. Lucie Police Department, and Fort Pierce Police Department work in close partnership with St. Lucie Public Schools Security Department to:

  • Provide campus support
  • Investigate all concerns and threats
  • Monitor activities
  • Build relationships with students, staff, and parents
  • Mentor students

Threats to schools are NO joking matter.

Individuals found guilty will face legal consequences and school-based consequences that could lead to expulsion. Parents talk to your children about being responsible with social media postings, and remember to immediately report any concerns, suspicious activities, or postings to 911 or contact Treasure Coast Crime Stoppers at 800-273-8477. You can also contact your school administrators, teachers or campus resource officers. If you see something, say something!

Public Schools continues to evaluate and strengthen its infrastructure:

  • Undergoing comprehensive review of all safety procedures
  • Seeking funding for full-time elementary resource officers
  • Urging parents and guardians to update and maintain current contact information in school’s database.

School Messenger and Skyward Mass notifications Systems depend upon accurate and up-to-date contact information.

It is important for parents and guardians to update contact information today. This can easily be done online https://www.stlucie.k12.fl.us/pdf/parents-students/skylert.pdf or by visiting your child’s school.

Parent resources remain available to students, staff, and families for guidance and support including counseling services.
