Ms. Hall\u2019s young mathematicians are exploring two key standards NSO.2.1 and NSO.2.3, for ordinal numbers and building essential number sense skills.<\/p>\n

The standard for NSO.2.1 involves reciting numbers from 1 to 5 in order and understanding that each number is \u201cone more\u201d than the previous. This helps students grasp how numbers grow and prepares them for addition, subtraction, and place value. It also builds numerical fluency and confidence in using numbers in everyday life.<\/p>\n

The standard for NSO.2.3 involves locating and plotting numbers from 0 to 5 on a number line, comparing numbers based on their position, and filling in missing numbers by counting left to right.
