Manatee Academy K-8 is sponsoring a Taylor’s Teddy Bear Drive!
Taylor’s Teddy Bears, Inc. is a non-profit organization started by Taylor’s mother. Taylor was a 4-year-old boy who passed away two years ago near North Perry Airport during an airplane accident. The organization collects teddy bears donated by the public, which are then given to first responders to give to children to help ease their pain during a traumatic event.
What We Need: New small-medium sized teddy bears for the Taylor’s Teddy Bears, Inc.
Our goal is to provide several hundred bears to the following agencies: St. Lucie Fire Department, St. Lucie Sheriff’s Department, St. Lucie Police Department, and Fort Pierce Police Department.
Students may bring the bears between April 17th– April 28th. Families may also purchase bears to be delivered to the school from the Amazon wish list.
The bears will be collected several times a week. There will be rewards for the top 3 classes who collect the most bears.
Please share with your family and friends so we can make this a “beary” special program available for all children in St. Lucie County!
On May 5th all students and staff may wear Taylor’s favorite color green. The above agencies will be presented with all collected bears on May 5th.
