The Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club partnered with United Way of St. Lucie County to offer a clever alternative to their annual Day of Reading event at Mariposa Elementary. Rather than risking potential Covid-19 exposure between club members, school staff, and students, Harbour Ridge sponsored a book fair. Club members contributed to the event by donating new and used books intended for K-5 students. At the conclusion of the event, over 400 books were collected by Harbour Ridge residents and employees to be sent to Mariposa’s media center and classroom libraries! Jordan Lattibeaudiere, Aiden Anderson, Kaiden Nguyen, and Mya Williams are excited to read the books. Mariposa Elementary students and staff deeply appreciate the generosity from the Harbour Ridge Yacht and Country Club as it takes a community to educate a child.
