Mariposa Elementary School’s teachers and students celebrated Storybook Character Day with a parade. They showcased their favorite storybooks and dressed as their favorite characters. In the classrooms, students read their stories to each other, and enjoyed some treats. Mrs. Whitaker and Ms. Patton along with the admin team dressed up as their favorite story book character from the story Wizard of Oz by L. Frank Baum. We even had Dolly Parton (Luca Moore) come visit Mariposa. Assistant principal Angela Patten and Terri Johnson were the resident witches. Bradlie Johnson and Leshauna Thompson stand proudly with their books that match the character they are dressed up as. It was a great day for literacy fun (and dressing up!) at our school.
