Virtual students enrolled in these programs are bound by all public school policies and expectations required by the State of Florida. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"><strong>This is not a home education program<\/strong>. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u00a0<em style=\"font-weight: 400\"> All initial communication regarding submitted applications will be through email. Please check your email frequently for communication from our enrolling staff. Failure to respond to a request for additional documentation will result in an inactive application.\u00a0<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<p>All new enrollments require a parent and\/or guardian to complete a Parent Commitment Agreement. Once the application is processed, the next steps will include the completion of additional documentation including the Parent Commitment Agreement.[\/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=&#8221;2\/3&#8243;][vc_column_text]<strong>Enrolled students must participate in all State Testing on campus (no opt-out option and remote testing is not permitted by the FLDOE). Please contact Student Services to determine if Hospital Homebound is an option for your particular circumstances.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Parents interested in enrolling a student in our K-12 public virtual school programs in St. Lucie Public Schools or Martin County Public Schools should <strong>not withdraw<\/strong> their student from their current school until the student has completed the current semester AND the parent\/guardian has received enrollment acceptance communication from our school administration. Class Time is scheduled for each core course weekly along with homeroom sessions. These sessions are hosted synchronously (at the same time with instructors and other students enrolled in the course) via Microsoft Teams or Zoom. Some specific accommodations may inherently be available due to the very nature of virtual school: additional time, work in shorter time frames, revisit the material as needed, use of eReader and other technical devices, and\/or tools to support learning. If the student requires specialized direct instruction and support in one or more academic areas in order to succeed in the general curriculum, this may not be available in the full-time virtual school setting. This type or intensity of service is not available through a virtual instruction program. Special instructional methods or modifications to the curriculum are not available. An IEP Review will be scheduled for students with an Individual Education Plan and the team will convene to discuss the accommodations currently identified in the IEP and a determination will be made to ensure students with an IEP can be provided F.A.P.E. Final report cards (If a student is moving to 1st grade, then submit the kindergarten final report card).<\/li>\n<li>State\/District testing scores, iReady, and Other Assessments from previous school years. If a student is entering Kindergarten, no test scores are required.
