Northport is a very lucky school and our children are well thought of throughout our community.\u00a0 One of our community partners, First Baptist Church of Port Saint Lucie or 1 PSL Church collaborated with another Northport community partner, First United Methodist Church of Port St. Lucie, FL to bring a fabulous summer reading program to our students.\u00a0 Both churches have collected books at each service since February.\u00a0 The total books collected by both community churches is over 2468 books for VPK – 8.\u00a0 \u26ea \u2764 ? ? ? Both churches have taken the school and the children under their wings to make sure that the kids and teachers in their own community are well cared for and books are in the hands of children over the summer.\u00a0 Pictured are congregation members from 1 PSL Church, Ben Rowell, Children’s pastor, Danny Martinez, Youth pastor, Stephanie Sakowski, Jean Lindo , Linda Grego and Ruby Daniels. The Northport Summer Reading program ” Faith In Literacy” is well underway and students will select their free take home summer reading books beginning next week.\u00a0 Many thanks and much ? \u2764 ? to our church partners!
