Dear Parents and\/or Guardian,<\/p>\n

According to Johns Hopkins University Center for Summer Learning<\/a>, children can lose 2-3 months of reading and math skills over the summer. It can take six weeks in the fall for students to make up for this loss, which educators call the Summer Slide<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In order to help stop the slide, St. Lucie Public Schools has put together an amazing website called Summer Slide Resources<\/em>that can be found on the district webpage. This page is to help keep your child\/children on track for success during the summer months. There is an area on this website for VPK, K-5, 6-8, and 9-12 students. The resources include Reading, Math, Social Studies, Science, Civics, and much much more!<\/p>\n
