Performance Based Preparatory Academy partners with Indian River State College (IRSC)<\/strong> to offer eligible students the opportunity to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Dual enrollment allows students to take approved college courses while still enrolled in high school. Students can earn both high school credit<\/strong> and college credit<\/strong> simultaneously, providing an excellent opportunity to get a head start on their college education.<\/p>\n

Students enrolled in dual enrollment attend high school and college courses concurrently while working toward their high school diploma.<\/p>\n

Students who participate in dual enrollment may:<\/p>\n

\u2705 Earn college credits at no cost while enrolled in high school<\/p>\n

\u2705 Accelerate progress toward a college degree or career certificate<\/p>\n

\u2705 Strengthen academic and time-management skills<\/p>\n

\u2705 Reduce the time and cost of completing college after graduation<\/p>\n

Important Information<\/h2>\n

 <\/p>\n

\n

Dual enrollment courses are college-level courses and require students to be motivated, responsible, and capable of managing their time effectively.<\/p>\n

Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher<\/strong> to receive both high school and college credit.<\/p>\n

A three-credit college course is generally equivalent to 0.5 high school credit.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Students may be eligible to begin earning college credits through Dual Enrollment as early as the summer after 10th grade<\/strong> if they maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher<\/strong> and meet all other college admission requirements.<\/p>\n

Eligibility requirements vary based on academic performance and college placement requirements. Students are encouraged to speak with their Guidance Counselor to determine their eligibility and explore available opportunities.<\/p>\n

Registration Process<\/h3>\n

Getting Started with Dual Enrollment<\/h4>\n

  1. Meet with your PBPA Guidance Counselor<\/strong> to discuss eligibility and available Dual Enrollment opportunities.<\/li>\n
  2. Review Dual Enrollment requirements through Indian River State College (IRSC)<\/strong> and complete any required admissions, testing, placement, or registration steps.<\/li>\n
  3. Submit all required applications and documentation<\/strong> by established deadlines.<\/li>\n
  4. Work with your Guidance Counselor and IRSC advisor<\/strong> to select and register for approved courses.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<\/div>\n
