The score interpretation is Tuesday, November 26, 2026.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/forms.cloud.microsoft\/r\/CLWY3BtMqM\">Registration link, must be signed in with St. Lucie student account to access.<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Attending IRSC for 2+2 to a university, a trade program, nursing, etc., apply directly to <a href=\"https:\/\/irsc.edu\/admissions\/apply.html\">IRSC<\/a>. Dual enrollment students must also reapply as regular student. Visit the <a href=\"https:\/\/irsc.edu\/admissions\/promise\/\">IRSC Promise Website<\/a> for the Fall 2027 Application and other requirements. It should update for Fall 2027 around November.<\/li>\n<li>IRSC has over 150 programs. <a href=\"https:\/\/irsc.edu\/search-programs\/\">Click this link to explore IRSC programs and receive additional information<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>All high school students should apply as &#8220;First Time in College Applicants&#8221; even if you are in dual enrollment.<\/li>\n<li>Research application deadlines and plan to finish the application process early just in case there is an issue. Check university admissions website for their specific information and assistance.<strong> Most<\/strong> priority college application deadlines including financial aid priority is October 15th or earlier.<\/li>\n<li>Students applying to multiple universities should investigate using Common APP. Common app opens on August 1st for class of 2027.<\/li>\n<li>Early Decision is a binding application; Early action is a non-binding application. Most universities require that you apply by a certain date to qualify for their institutional scholarships, visit each university admissions page to verify their date.<\/li>\n<li>Sign up for a Fall SAT, ACT, and CLT test administration. SAT\/ACT\/CLT can be used to assist in scholarships, university applications, and satisfy state reading and math test graduation requirements. View the Register for <a href=\"https:\/\/schools.stlucie.k12.fl.us\/phs\/post-secondary-planning-tools\/sign-up-for-sat-and-act\/\">SAT, ACT, and CLT Link<\/a> for additional information.<\/li>\n<li>Attend the <strong>St. Lucie County College Fair on Monday, <\/strong>October 5, 2026, from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the St. Lucie Public Schools Office, <span data-teams=\"true\">9461 Brandywine Lane. <\/span>Over 50 colleges will be in attendance to answer questions about admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"https:\/\/studentaid.gov\/h\/apply-for-aid\/fafsa\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">2027-2028 FAFSA <\/a>will open October 1st (<strong>F<\/strong>ree <strong>A<\/strong>pplication for<strong> F<\/strong>ederal <strong>S<\/strong>tudent <strong>A<\/strong>id). This will let you know how much financial aid you can qualify for from the US Department of Education. A completed FAFSA is required by most colleges and universities as their 1st step in the financial aid process.<\/li>\n<li>Financial Aid and FAFSA Help Session, <strong>Thursday<\/strong>, <strong>October 1, 2026, <\/strong>@ 6:00pm in the STEM BuildingS-108 at Indian River State College, Pruitt Campus (<span data-teams=\"true\">500 NW California Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL 34986).<\/span> \u00a0Please bring your charged school laptop to this event or personal laptop.<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org\/SAPHOME\/SAPHOME\">The Florida Application for Financial Aid<\/a> should be completed on October 1st, even if you do not qualify for Bright Futures yet.<\/li>\n<li>The Florida Financial Aid Application is the application to apply for Bright Futures and approximately 14 other programs. You will send your SAT, ACT, and CLT scores to the Florida Public University or State College each time you take the test to be superscored for Bright Futures eligibility.<\/li>\n<li>Update your resume using the Xello Resume Builder tool.<\/li>\n<li>Use Xello to assist you with the following tasks:\n<ul>\n<li>Job interviewing skills<\/li>\n<li>Bright Futures evaluation and scholarships matching tool<\/li>\n<li>College and Career Planning and Exploration<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Download the <a href=\"https:\/\/schools.stlucie.k12.fl.us\/phs\/files\/2025\/07\/Helper-Helper-Tutorial-for-Students-3.pdf\">Helper Helper App<\/a> to submit all community service and work hours.<\/li>\n<li>Complete your college application and continue to apply to scholarships.<\/li>\n<li>Report your college acceptances and scholarship winnings to Ms. Scherden in 941B.<\/li>\n<li data-charcodes=\"8226\" data-font=\"Arial,Sans-Serif\" data-buautonum=\"8\" data-margin=\"450\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><span data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\">Most of the Florida Universities do not need a letter of recommendation. If you do need a letter from the\u00a0<\/span><span data-usefontface=\"false\" data-contrast=\"none\">school counselor, please email your assigned school counselor a copy of your Xello Resume at least 2 weeks in prior to the due date.<\/span><\/li>\n<li data-charcodes=\"8226\" data-font=\"Arial,Sans-Serif\" data-buautonum=\"8\" data-margin=\"450\" data-aria-posinset=\"3\" data-aria-level=\"1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/schools.stlucie.k12.fl.us\/phs\/post-secondary-planning-tools\/sign-up-for-sat-and-act\/\">Register for the SAT and ACT<\/a> if needed for college admissions, scholarships, or high school graduation concordant scores.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Middle of Fall to Winter Break<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Check graduation requirements via Skyward and GPA.<\/li>\n<li>Continue taking SAT, ACT, CLT if you are trying to earn Bright Futures and still need the test scores.<\/li>\n<li>Make sure to check college application status and beat deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>Apply for State for Florida Financial Aid starting in October. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.floridastudentfinancialaidsg.org\/SAPHOME\/SAPHOME\">One application for Bright Futures and other State of Florida Scholarships<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Continue to check school email. The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.educationfoundationstlucie.org\/p\/12\/scholarships\">St. Lucie Education Foundation Scholarships<\/a> are usually released in January\/February and due by mid-March.<\/li>\n<li>Finish your senior year strong, admissions can be rescinded.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h1>Spring<\/h1>\n<ul>\n<li>Continue to apply for scholarships.<\/li>\n<li>Check Bright Futures requirements, if you meet the GPA and classes requirement but not the test score requirements, sign up for the next <a href=\"https:\/\/schools.stlucie.k12.fl.us\/phs\/post-secondary-planning-tools\/sign-up-for-sat-and-act\/\">SAT\/ACT\/CLT<\/a>.<\/li>\n<li>Bright Futures Reevaluation will update on Xello in late March.<\/li>\n<li>Students entering the military need to finalize plans and sign papers with the military recruiter.<\/li>\n<li>Students attending college need to select the post-secondary institution they will be attending and request final transcript for that institution. Final transcripts occur at senior clearance, however, the final transcript will not be available until approximately 3 weeks after graduation.
