Dear Parents and Guardians:
As a result of school closings necessitated by Hurricane Matthew, St. Lucie Public Schools students need to make up 12 hours of instruction to meet the state mandated annual number of instructional hours.
In order to accomplish this, the St. Lucie County School Board and the St. Lucie County Classroom Teachers Association and Classified Unit have tentatively agreed to the following adjustments to the 2016-2017 school calendar:
* March 20th, formerly a Teacher Workday, will become a full school day for students.
* June 1st, formerly an Early Release Day, will become a full school day for students.
* June 5th, formerly a Teacher Workday, will become an Early Release Day for students. (This is the students’ last day.)
If you have any questions regarding these make-up times, please contact your child’s principal.
Sincerely,
E. Wayne Gent
Superintendent
