The Florida High School Athletic Association’s (FHSAA) 2023 Swimming and Diving State Meet for Class 4A unfolded on Friday, November 10, at the Florida Aquatics Swimming & Training Center in Ocala, Florida. The event showcased top-tier talent, with 24 swimmers advancing in individual eventsβcomprising the top two from each regional meet and additional at-large qualifiers based on the next overall best times from the remaining top 16. In relay events, 21 teams progressed, including the top team from each regional meet and additional qualifiers with the next overall best times from the remaining top eight. In the diving competition, 24 contestants earned spots, including the top two from each regional meet and additional at-large qualifiers based on both minimum qualifying scores and top 16 performance in their respective regional meets. The meet celebrated exceptional skill and competition in high school swimming and diving.
Representing Fort Pierce Central High School, Aiden Gaines, Aiden Richards, Maddox Mules, Maverick Mules, and Ryker Mules showcased their prowess in various events, including freestyle, butterfly, and backstroke, as well as relay and diving events. Aiden Gaines secured 7th place in the boys 1m diving competition with a score of 419.35. Maddox Mules achieved 6th place overall in the 200-yard freestyle swim with a time of 1:40.91, while Maverick Mules finished the 100-yard butterfly in 50.44 seconds, earning 5th place overall. Aiden Richards, as well as Mavrick, Maddox, and Ryker Mules all collaborated in both the 200-yard freestyle relay and the 200-yard medley relay.
