Student Council generally accepts applications for student council at the beginning of the school year. Campaign speeches and voting will be done electronically, typically the first week of October. Official elections will follow.

Who is eligible to run for student council?

Middle school students grades 6 through 8.

What are the responsibilities of someone on Student Council?

Student council is utilized to get the voice and opinions of the middle school student body. We will meet regularly to discuss topics that pertain to school and how the faculty and staff serve the students.

Additionally, student council is expected to serve on volunteer committees that plan major school events, community relations and more.

How many students get appointed to Student Council?

There are a total of 12 positions. President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary and 3 representatives for each grade level.

What is the application process?

You must have two references from current teachers, write a brief essay and have acceptable grades. Entire application packets can be picked up from the Media Center prior to campaigning.

Elections typically happen in early October.
