At Oak Hammock K-8, we are proud to implement our House System as a core part of our school culture. Launched during the 2025–2026 school year, the House System was designed to strengthen connections across our campus, foster a strong sense of belonging, and promote the values of the Osprey Standard.
A House System organizes students and staff into smaller, cross-grade groups called “houses,” creating a family-like community within the larger school. Each house includes students from multiple grade levels, allowing older students to take on leadership roles and mentor younger peers while building meaningful relationships across campus.
Through the House System, students work together to:
- Build positive relationships and school pride
- Demonstrate strong character and leadership
- Earn recognition for academic effort, positive behavior, and participation
- Engage in friendly, school-wide competitions and celebrations
This structure supports a positive school climate by encouraging teamwork, accountability, and a shared commitment to excellence.
As we enter Year 2 of implementation, our focus is on strengthening consistency, deepening student engagement, and continuing to build a unified school community. All new students are welcomed and sorted into a house upon enrollment, ensuring that every child immediately becomes part of a supportive team and has a place to belong at Oak Hammock.
The Oak Hammock House System reflects our commitment to developing the whole child—while building a culture where every student is known, valued, and connected.
