Daily School Schedule
8:00 am Doors open for students
8:00 am – 8:30 am Breakfast available for all students
8:30 am Instruction Begins. Students arriving after 8:30 are tardy and must be signed in by an adult.
3:00 pm – 3:15 pm Dismissal
* On Early Release Days, students are dismissed two hours early, at 1:00pm.
**There is no student supervision before 8:00 am or after 3:15 pm

Parkway Elementary School’s PTO is an organization of parents, teachers, staff, and other interested adults providing services to students, parents, staff members and the community.
PTO Purpose
- To bring into closer relation the home and the school, that parents and teachers may cooperate intelligently in the education of children and youth.

Services
Clinic service in the school include first aid for minor injuries, administration of medication and follow up for temporary immunizations. Students with a temperature higher than 100 degrees F will be sent home.
Health Screenings
Annual health screenings for vision, hearing, height, weight and BMI for certain grade levels are being performed in the clinic. Parents should continually be alert to identify vision or hearing difficulties which indicate a need for examination by a physician.
Medication at school
No medication, prescription or nonprescription, i.e. Tylenol, aspirin, cough drops, ointments, etc. can be given at school without a written Physicians Authorization Form signed by the physician and the parent. Doctor’s prescription forms cannot be accepted. Medication has to be brought to school by the parent and MUST be in the original container.
For prescription medication the pharmacy label is required. When the bottle is empty it will be returned home for refill if needed. No medication will be sent home with the student. Students may not carry any kind of medication in the classroom with the exception of inhalers when indicated by a physician.

Bullying Resources:
THE SCHOOL DISTRICT OF ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FLORIDA, DOES NOT TOLERATE ACTS OF BULLYING OR HARASSMENT, INCLUDING BULLYING OR HARASSMENT BASED ON DISABILITY.
BULLYING means systematically and chronically inflicting physical hurt or psychological distress on one or more students or employees.
HARASSMENT means any threatening, insulting, or dehumanizing gesture, use of data or computer software, written or oral statement, or physical conduct directed against a student or school employee that:
(i) Places a student or school employee in reasonable fear of harm to person or property,
(ii) Has the effect of substantially interfering with a student’s educational performance, opportunities, or benefits, or
(iii) Has the effect of substantially disrupting the orderly operation of a school.
A single act may constitute prohibited harassment if sufficiently severe.
PROHIBITED CONDUCT INCLUDES acts of bullying or harassment based on protected characteristics such as sex, religion, race/ethnicity, or disability.

SCHOOL MEALS
Parkway Elementary is a CEP school. Please complete the nutrition application for the 2024-2025 school year. Breakfast and lunch will be provided to all students free of cost.
Students may purchase or prepay for a la carte item such as cookies, ice cream, or other dessert.
Checks should be made payable to Parkway Elementary School or parents may add funds to their students account through this portal.

Find My Bus Route
All bus stop information is subject to change and is updated daily to show current, bus routes, bus stops, and stop times. Please check for changes frequently.
All bus stops are assigned to be walking distance from your home, with the exception of a community bus stop. Community bus stops are based on magnet/alternate education/program schools and are designed to bring as many students as possible to one location to transport the children to and from school.
The Transportation Department does not employ crossing guards. You may contact your local county/city office to request a crossing guard at bus stops that may be located near a busy intersection.
The Transportation Department is not able to make address changes.
Please update your address with your student’s school or with the student assignment office. Please allow up to 3-5 business days for a route to assigned once we receive your address change.

Apply to be a Volunteer
All volunteers must apply annually.
To Apply:
- Click on “Click to register to be a volunteer” link above.
- Click on “Click to view current job openings.”
- Click on “Search for posted positions.”
- Scroll down and check volunteer box.
- Click on apply for selected positions.
- New users will need to create a profile.
- Follow the steps on the application.
- When the application is finished, click “Submit to HR.”
Please note: Once the online application is complete, it can take up to ten days for your information to be verified and for background checks to be completed. Once your application has been reviewed you will receive a notice in your email (if you included it in your application) and the message section of your application.
The Parkway Elementary volunteer coordinator will assist you in determining the volunteer activity which is best suited to your skills, interests, schedule, and needs of the school.
