Samuel S. Gaines Academy of Emerging Technologies teachers John Renschler and Yiranny Guzman won big at the annual Night of the Stars event on February 5th, 2022. Ms. Yiranny Guzman was selected as the St. Lucie Public Schools Outstanding First Year Teacher! She is more than deserving of this recognition. Her students say that she makes technology class one of the most exciting electives they have, and she has been implementing the Amazon Future Engineers framework in her class, a pilot program unique to SGAET. She is also a fan-favorite star of Winter Games: Game Over, the incredible direct to streaming on Colt Instamedia family event directed by none other than, Mr. John Renschler. Mr. Renschler received the top honors at Night of the Stars: St. Lucie Public Schools Teacher of the Year! SGAET’s 1st Grade teacher is one of the most dynamic educators in the business, his classroom is full of excitement, as he makes every lesson an experience for his students, who excitedly jump from their seats into action when he challenges them to complete missions in learning. Additionally, he directs and stars in Winter Games: Game Over, and assists with both the school basketball and flag football teams. His students and colleagues alike describe him as fun, caring, and inclusive. Samuel S. Gaines Academy of Emerging Technologies is full of amazing teachers, and we are proud to have Mr. Renschler and Ms. Guzman represent us and St. Lucie Public Schools with these great honors.
