Weatherbee received the 2020-2021 Model School Resilience Award.
This demonstrates Weatherbee’s commitment to the effective implementation of PBIS and efforts toward achieving positive and equitable outcomes for all students. By establishing this framework, we have demonstrated a commitment to developing students’ social-emotional skills, making changes to the school environment, acknowledging and celebrating appropriate student behavior and using data to identify needed supports for students.
What is PBIS?
Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) is an evidence-based three-tiered framework to improve and integrate all of the data, systems, and practices affecting student outcomes every day. PBIS creates schools that support everyone – especially students with disabilities – for success!
Five Star School Award
Weatherbee has been recognized by Florida’s Department of Education as a Five Star School. This award is presented annually to those schools that have shown evidence of exemplary community involvement. In order to earn FIVE STAR school recognition, a school must show documentation that it has achieved 100% of the established criteria in the categories of:
- Business Partnerships
- Family Involvement
- Volunteerism
- Student Community Service
- School Advisory Councils
