Ms. White’s fifth grade students are reading The Wild Robot and are off to a great start. Students are increasing their vocabulary skills, participating in writing tasks, and learning about the main characters and how they change throughout the story. They are also deepening their understanding of figurative language by identifying examples in the text and discussing their meaning. In addition, students are engaging in thoughtful classroom discussions, making predictions about upcoming events, and supporting their ideas with evidence from the story.
