Teacher Appreciation Week started off at Southport with administration and staff members meeting to put gift bags together for our teachers and staff. Each bag contained sweet treats for the week, fun projects to enjoy, kindness notes from students and colleagues, and a commemorative distance learning #HurricaneStrong tee-shirt. Teachers were invited to drive by and pickup up their gift bags and a nice lunch box from administration. There were more surprises and support from some of our amazing students who dropped off posters, flowers, and balloons to cheer up the occasion! Everyone was delighted to see each other, keeping social distancing in mind, happily giving air hugs to their Southport family members.
