The Southport Middle School cafe staff teamed up with art teacher Brenda Pecora and attendance clerk Linda Nelson to make National School Breakfast Week an enjoyable time for everyone at school this week. Miss Donna, Miss Paula, Miss Stacia, Miss Aurora, Miss Jeanette, Miss Lydia, Miss Marianna, Miss Delma and cafeteria manager Miss Eileen Kielbasa prepared special breakfast treats throughout the week, including wagon wheel waffles and apple slice race cars to go with the theme “Start Your Engines”. Mrs. Pecora worked with her art students to make the race cars that were used to help decorate for the event, which also fit seamlessly with her wonderful display at the St. Lucie County Fair this year. Mrs. Nelson reported a total of 228 students with perfect attendance for the first two months of 2019, from which fifteen students were selected from the list to attend breakfast aboard the Big Bites Bus to celebrate National School Breakfast Week #NSBW19 Great Job everyone!
