PRIDE’s purpose is to create a learning environment where students learn self-esteem, dignity, honor, self-respect, self-worth, and regard for self and others while engaging in rigorous academic work. This program includes small student-to-teacher ratios to increase academic learning time and support from paraprofessionals, behavior technicians, counselors, social workers, and a school psychologist.
Students:
Grades K-5
MAPP is a district-wide voluntary program for students who are one or more years over-age-for-grade, are behind their correct graduation cohort, complete all missing classes and build skills so that our students graduate on time with their peers able to meet all standard diploma options on time. Students may enroll for one year spending one semester in each grade (for example: S1 7th/S2 8th or S1 8th/S2 9th).
Students:
To be considered for the MAPP Program, students should be in current grades 7-8. Students may enroll for one year spending one semester in each grade (for example: S1 7th/S2 8th or S1 8th/S2 9th). MAPP students must be able to meet the rigorous academic pace and content in order to be served in this program.
DLA is designed for students who excel in a virtual learning arena. Students who enjoy working at their own pace and are self-motivated to graduate on time or early can benefit from this method of learning. Digital Learning Academy uses computer-assisted instruction supported by certified content teachers in all core content areas (English, Math, Science, and Social Studies). DLA uses technology-enhanced educational strategies from Edgenuity to enhance learning experiences.
Students:
Grades 6-12
The purpose of our HOPE Program is to provide educational, behavioral, and social/emotional support for students with disabilities in the most restrictive environment in St. Lucie County.
Students:
Students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in grades K-12, who need the most restrictive placement.
Self-Contained EBD
DCEC students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) are provided with intensive, focused instruction with a dedicated classroom teacher and paraprofessional in each class, who rotate between core academics and remediation classes each day.
Self-Contained EBD students follow the same curriculum as all students in St. Lucie Public Schools, and also receive social skills instruction and specialized behavior management strategies.

Phoenix Academy is designed to provide a safe and caring educational setting for students who require a smaller classroom setting with academic credit recovery and/or remedial content needs. We support students through counseling and differentiated instruction.
