The purpose of our HOPE Program is to provide educational, behavioral, and social/emotional support for students with disabilities in the most restrictive environment in St. Lucie County.
Students:
Students with Individual Education Plans (IEPs) in grades K-12, who need the most restrictive placement.
Self-Contained EBD
DCEC students with Emotional/Behavioral Disabilities (EBD) are provided with intensive, focused instruction with a dedicated classroom teacher and paraprofessional in each class, who rotate between core academics and remediation classes each day.
Self-Contained EBD students follow the same curriculum as all students in St. Lucie Public Schools, and also receive social skills instruction and specialized behavior management strategies.
