What things do you not like to do?
Answer: Grocery shop and laundry
What’s your superpower?
Answer: Patience. This is my 24th year teaching.
What are you reading right now?
Answer: Disrupting Thinking by Kylene Beers & Robert Probst
Why did you become a teacher?
Answer: I have worked with children since I was 15 years old and have always enjoyed it. I feel fortunate to have had many mentors make a difference in my life and I want to pay it forward.
What is your proudest moment at Oak Hammock?
Answer: I am proud that my daughter, Hannah Beers, graduated from Oak Hammock K-8 .We will always share special memories of great teachers, ceremonies, and special friends.
What is the favorite part of your day?
Answer: My favorite part of the day is the early morning after a long run. It gives me time to clear the static and prioritize the important things.
Do you have a favorite quote?
Answer: “Enjoy the Little things in Life….for one day you will look back and realize they were the big things.”
What are three words that best describe you?
Answer: Introvert, good listener, kind
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Answer: Run long distance and lift weights.
Where is your hometown?
Answer: Reston, Virginia.
