🎓 Earn College Credit While in High School
Performance Based Preparatory Academy partners with Indian River State College (IRSC) to offer eligible students the opportunity to participate in the Dual Enrollment Program.
Dual enrollment allows students to take approved college courses while still enrolled in high school. Students can earn both high school credit and college credit simultaneously, providing an excellent opportunity to get a head start on their college education.
Students enrolled in dual enrollment attend high school and college courses concurrently while working toward their high school diploma.

Important Information
Dual enrollment courses are college-level courses and require students to be motivated, responsible, and capable of managing their time effectively.
Students must earn a grade of “C” or higher to receive both high school and college credit.
A three-credit college course is generally equivalent to 0.5 high school credit.
Students may be eligible to begin earning college credits through Dual Enrollment as early as the summer after 10th grade if they maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher and meet all other college admission requirements.
Eligibility requirements vary based on academic performance and college placement requirements. Students are encouraged to speak with their Guidance Counselor to determine their eligibility and explore available opportunities.

Registration Process
Getting Started with Dual Enrollment
- Meet with your PBPA Guidance Counselor to discuss eligibility and available Dual Enrollment opportunities.
- Review Dual Enrollment requirements through Indian River State College (IRSC) and complete any required admissions, testing, placement, or registration steps.
- Submit all required applications and documentation by established deadlines.
- Work with your Guidance Counselor and IRSC advisor to select and register for approved courses.
