From Library to Media Center, to the 21st Century Learning Commons!
The new Learning Commons is established to be an integral part of the school’s overall educational program. It supports the school’s curriculum by working cooperatively with teachers to provide a variety of collaboration space, 3D augmented reality Z-Space stations, Maker-space’s, flex seating, an 86 & 72-inch computer screens, and an eSports Gaming Lab.
The Learning Commons Staff not only provides materials and service, but also assistance in their effective use. This renovation was made possible by the $12.5 million MSAP Grant obtained a few years ago by SLPS to bolster and expand the STEM offerings at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy.
