The Pharmacy Tech program here at Fort Pierce Westwood Academy: The WEST Prep Magnet offers a sequence of courses that prepare students for education and careers in the Health Science career cluster. The program is designed to prepare students for employment as pharmacy technicians.

Our aging population, the increased use of medical technologies for diagnosis and treatment, and the resulting demand for healthcare services assure us that Healthcare will continue to be the fastest-growing industry sector. St. Lucie Public School’s Allied Health programs offer students opportunities for certifications that lead to entry-level jobs in healthcare, as well as articulated credits to continue their educational and career pathway at the college level.

Note: Regarding completion of Anatomy and Physiology (2000350): this course or its substitutions do not meet requirements for an “Equally Rigorous Science” credit.

The pharmacy classroom, designed in partnership with Walgreens Pharmacy, provides students with hands-on experiences that are conducive to today’s current pharmacy settings.
