A group of our 9th grade students took a research cruise with FIU Harbor Branch Scientists to study the Indian River Lagoon aboard their research vessel. Students tested water quality and biodiversity in the lagoon. They used the ROV to see what was happening at the bottom! After the cruise we went to the visitor center too see what is happening with Aquaculture at FIU Harbor Branch and their captive breeding program for saltwater aquarium fish. Many people don’t know that Harbor Branch has the largest breeding program in the country for saltwater aquariums!
