Over Thanksgiving break Makayla Megnauth decided to take on the challenge of not only playing way up in 17U as a 12-year-old, but to help a small-town Puerto RIco team (Salinas) as they faced the best of the best that flew in from all over the United States to play on an AllStar team. In 7 games while playing with the team Makayla batted an amazing team high .714. Makayla also got 2 starts pitching as she got the win both times. She did not allow a single earned run as she dominated these older girls. Her outstanding overall performance earned to a contract to play for the Puerto Rico Confederation team. Makayla is the youngest player ever to be offered a contract. Makayla continues to set and crush her goals. Last season while playing for LPA on the Varsity team as a 6th grader, Makayla lead the district in Pitching Earned Runs Allowed. Makayla also played up in age over the summer in the World Series against 32 different teams from across the United States. Not only did she pitch her team to win the World Series, but she was also awarded the Most Outstanding Pitcher Award.
