The Lincoln Park Academy Wind Symphony & Orchestra recently traveled to New York City to perform in the Worldstride’s Heritage National Festival and had an outstanding week of performances and activities. They earned several accolades as listed below:
- Wind Ensemble received straight superiors, placed in the Gold division, earned an Adjudicator’s Choice award and an Invitational Award to perform in the annual Festival Gold
- Jazz Ensemble received straight superiors and placed in the Gold division
- Steel Drum Ensemble, led by LPA Senior Ricardo Bailou received straight superiors, placed in the Gold division, earned an Adjudicator’s Choice award and an Invitational Award to perform in the annual Festival of Gold.
- Percussion Ensemble and Orchestra both placed in the Silver division
- Student Ainsley Skinner received a solo award
The Lincoln Park Academy Wind Symphony and Orchestra received the Spirit Award, which is “awarded to one participating group that best represents their school and community. It is awarded based on recommendations from the Worldstride’s staff and adjudicators for their group’s cooperation and enthusiastic support of all activities during their festival journey”.
