9th Grade & 10th Grade
- Take challenging(and realistic) course load for which you are eligible. A’s and B”s will help earn degrees!
- Monitor your grades on Skyward weekly. Talk to your teacher for assistance if you have a D or F.
- Track your status on meeting graduation requirements on Skyward.
- Get involved! Clubs, activities, and community service look great on a college application. (Time Management, Keep Your Grades Up)
- Record and keep track of your credentials ( CTE certifications, awards, volunteer hours, etc) You will need this for your college applications, essays, scholarships, letters of recommendation as a senior.
- Make sure your PSAT is linked with Khan Academy. Spend 1-2 hours a week on individualized improvement plan via Khan Academy.
- Check Skyward daily to monitor grades, assignments, announcement, attendance, etc.
- A high GPA and high standardized test scores make you competitive for scholarships and college acceptance.
- Explore summer opportunities. Find a job, internship, college camps, etc.
- Take PSAT in 9th, 10th, 11th.
- Check graduation requirements in Skyward at the end of the year. Meet with your counselor if you failed a course to develop a plan to get back on track to graduate.

- Take Advantage of the IRSC Online Career Coach–Discover majors and in-demand careers and education based on your interests!
- Check out our CTE Programs that can lead to college credit upon completion and enrollment to IRSC after high school graduation.
