Students must successfully complete one of the following diploma options:
- 24-credit option – details listed below
- 18-credit Academically Challenging Curriculum to Enhance Learning (ACCEL) option
- International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma curriculum
24-credit High School Diploma
4 credits in English Language Arts (ELA)
- English 1, 2, 3, 4
- English Honors, IB, AICE, AP, Pre-IB, and dual enrollment courses may satisfy this requirement
4 credits in Math
- One of which must be Algebra 1* and one of which must be Geometry*
- Industry certifications that lead to college credit may substitute for up to two mathematics credits (except for Algebra 1 and Geometry).
3 credits in Science
- One of which must be Biology I*, two of which must be equally rigorous science courses.
- Two of the three required credits must have a laboratory component (Biology I counts as a laboratory component course).
3 credits in Social Studies
- 1 credit in World History
- 1 credit in U.S. History*
- 5 credits in U.S. Government
- 5 credits in Economics with Financial Literacy
1 credit Fine & Performing or Practical Arts
PSLHS offers the following courses to satisfy this requirement:
- All art, music, band, dance, theater, and chorus courses
- Culinary 2 (Must complete both Culinary Arts 1 AND 2)
- Debate I
- Technical Design 1 (Drafting)
- Digital Information Technology
- Digital Design (Yearbook)
- TV Production 1
- 2 years of JROTC (waiver)
- Carpentry 2 (Must complete both Carpentry 1 AND 2)
- Marketing Essentials
1 credit HOPE
8 elective credits
1 online course within 24 credits (Most students achieve this through their Economics with Financial Literacy course in 12th grade.)
Students must meet the state assessment requirements:
- Grade 10 English Language Arts
- Algebra I*
Students must earn a minimum 2.0 grade point average on a 4.0 scale
*Students must participate in the EOC assessments. (The results constitute 30 percent of the final course grade. These assessments are in the following subjects: Algebra I, Biology I, U.S. History, Geometry.)
