Course Descriptions:
- Technical Design I – Full Year Course, First Year Course Description: This course provides students with instruction in the characteristics and evolution of technology, underlying principles of design, and fundamental knowledge and skills in the use of illustration and drafting software. The students will create manual drawings and move onto basic AutoCad principals
- Technical Design II – Full Year of Second Year Course Description: In this course, students learn more about the nature of design and drafting techniques in mechanical engineering purposes using AutoCad software. In addition to learning more advanced techniques, students will have an opportunity to research a project, design an appropriate solution, and present their results. The students will use 3D printers to fulfill their projects.
- Technical Design III – Full Year of Second or Third Year Course Description: In this course, students learn more about the nature of design and drafting techniques for engineering purposes AutoDesk Inventor software. Students are also provided with instruction in a variety of technical practices. Students are expected to continue collating their portfolio using exemplars of their work
