Fall
- Check your graduation requirements on Skyward.
- Check your school email and teams daily for important information and events.
- If you are interested in military, contact recruiter for specific branch. Explore and visit military.com for more information.
- The ASVAB date on the PSLHS campus is 10/8/25, registration deadline is 9/24/25. Registration Link must be signed in with St. Lucie student account to access.
- Sign up for a Fall SAT, ACT, and CLT test administration. SAT/ACT/CLT can be used to assist in scholarships, university applications, and satisfy state reading and math test graduation requirements. View the Register for SAT, ACT, and CLT Link for additional information.
- Attend the St. Lucie County College Fair on September 24th from 5:30pm-7:30pm at the St. Lucie Public Schools Office. Over 50 colleges will be in attendance answer questions about admissions, financial aid, and scholarships.
- The 2026-27 FAFSA will open October 1st (Free Application for Federal Student Aid). This will let you know how much financial aid you can qualify for from the US Department of Education. A completed FAFSA is required by most colleges and universities as their 1st step in the financial aid process.
- FAFSA Help Session, October 23rd 5:30pm-7:00pm in the media center. Please have your FSA ID’s completed to sign in to your FAFSA account. Create Account | Federal Student Aid
- Research application deadlines and plan to finish the application process early just in case there is an issue. Check university admissions website for their specific information and assistance. Most priority college application deadlines including financial aid priority is October 15th.
- Students applying to multiple universities should investigate using Common APP. Common app opens on August 1st for class of 2026.
- Attending IRSC for 2+2 to a university, a trade program, nursing, etc., apply directly to IRSC. Dual enrollment students must also reapply as regular student.
- All high school students should apply as “First Time in College Applicants” even if you are in dual enrollment.
- Update your resume using the Xello Resume Builder tool.

- Defining Sucess
- Download the Helper Helper App to submit all community service and work hours.
- Complete your college application and continue to apply to scholarships.
- Report your college acceptances and scholarship winnings to Ms. Scherden in 941B.
- Most of the Florida Universities do not need a letter of recommendation. If you do need a letter from the school counselor, please email your assigned school counselor a copy of your Xello Resume or Student Brag Sheet for a School Counselor Recommendation at least 2 weeks in prior to the due date.
- Register for the SAT and ACT if needed for college admissions, scholarships, or high school graduation concordant scores.
Middle of Fall to Winter Break
- Check graduation requirements via Skyward and GPA.
- Make sure to check college application status and beat deadlines.
- Apply for State for Florida Financial Aid starting in October. One application for Bright Futures and other State of Florida Scholarships.
- Continue to check school email. The St. Lucie Education Foundation Scholarships are usually released in January/February and due by mid-March.
- Finish your senior year strong, admissions can be rescinded.
Spring
- Continue to apply for scholarships.
- Check Bright Futures requirements, if you meet the GPA and classes requirement but not the test score requirements, sign up for the next SAT/ACT/CLT.
- Students entering the military need to finalize plans and sign papers with the military recruiter.
- Decision time, stay tuned for Career and College Decision Day Reveal Photo Shoot information.
- Students attending college need to select the post-secondary institution they will be attending and request final transcript for that institution. Final transcripts occur at senior clearance, however, the final transcript will not be available until approximately 3 weeks after graduation. You need to follow up by contacting their office of admissions, financial aid, etc. Make sure to meet their deadlines.
- Follow up with your college/university admissions for next steps upon acceptance.
